Until Then is a 501(c)3 Non Profit Organization whose purpose is to bring awareness, advocacy and action to issues related to the 150 million children who live on the streets of our world.
1) To bring Awareness and Advocate on behalf of street kids: Our goal is to change the perception of how street kids are viewed and to stand up for their rights when they are ignored. We hope to help people understand that street kids are not a lesser class, but they should be seen the same way we view our own children. They are simply children who have no parents, no support system or societal structure to help them. Many people have no idea the problem of street kids even exists. We believe that when someone becomes aware of the plight of street children and starts to understand this problem, they will feel a need to help.
Until Then provides training on how to address the special needs of street kids through conferences and summits. Awareness is raised through speakers and curriculum for break-out sessions and/or platform speakers for domestic and international conferences, where we illuminate the cause and plight of street kids and provide opportunity for best practices to be discussed.
In addition to these steps, Until Then seeks to engage the world through media by partnering with Reason 4 Productions and the Director of the documentary “Glue Boys” to create more films and tools to help bring awareness to the issues of street kids.
2) Taking Action for street kids. Another key strategy of Until Then is to partner with like minded organizations to assist in projects that are benefiting street kids and help to create new ones. These projects aim to alleviate poverty, educate children, provide basic needs thereby creating a community where children are not tempted to run to the streets to get their basic needs met . Some of these projects include drop in centers, agricultural training programs, vocational planning and training, and clean water projects.
